Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Social Media (but were afraid to ask)
29 05 2008Today, I gave a social media presentation for the American Marketing Association, Louisville’s monthly seminar. There was a great backdrop at the University Club, part of the University of Louisville where attendance was in upwards of 70.
This was a bit difficult to gauge, as there was a wide range of social media knowledge in the room. Trying to keep from oversimplifying and getting too deep was the challenge for the day. Still, it seemed that folks left knowing something they had not before, as they were receptive. Presenting in the form of storytelling some examples of strategies seemed to work well.

As for how much to charge - I’d say the $30-$50 range is appropriate, depending on if you serve food and how long it is.
I wanted to tell you I enjoyed the presentation very much, a friend stated its a waste of time to social network. My comment back you are missing out on a great opportunity to have people find and connect with you , to bring yourself and services for people to connect with you.

Nice presentation - and slideshare looks like a cool app. It’s amazing how quickly social media is taking off and how underprepared (or even oblivious) many companies and marketers are.
