NowSourcing is a social media and internet marketing company based in Louisville, KY. Our clients range from small local businesses to well-known, nation-wide corporations. We offer a variety of internship positions for you to gain hands on experience with all aspects of the growing internet marketing industry. It is a chance for you to dive right in and learn about how companies can use the internet to increase sales, turn more profit, and develop relationships with their customers. The web has already made a dramatic impact in the work force as an emerging medium for company promotion, and the amount of brands moving into the online world is continually increasing. Unlike other outlets, the internet provides the opportunity for consumers to conveniently interact directly with companies in real time. Our internship program is not just about learning, but learning by doing. More importantly, NowSourcing will help you get a jump start with your future career.
The internship consists of 240 hours total, which averages to 20 hours per week for an overall time period of 3 months. We have flexible hours and are able to work with your schedule. Our office is open from 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday.
The internships are non-paid, but may result in employment after the duration of the intern period.

Research Internship
The research intern will become an expert at finding useful information on the Internet. As our infographic production increases, we need someone who can dig out interesting statistics and facts relating to the current projects. Our infographic subjects can range from germs to elevators, so someone who can quickly change topics and continue finding relevant information is a must. Though most research will be for infographic production, some may be for industry news and competition analysis. Research Interns may also be involved with blog writing and content creation for clients.
Requirements:
- Total of 240 hours – averages to 20 hours per week
- Must have your own laptop to use in the office
- If the internship is fulfilling college credit, you must comply with all school requirements
- Competent writer
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Good reputation online
- No posting of content on personal social media profiles that would conflict with professional image
- Interest and eager to learn about a wide variety of topics
Typical Daily Tasks:
- Use of Basecamp and Google Documents to plan and organize tasks
- Meet with other team members to strategize on upcoming infographic projects
- Discuss open projects and their current status, continue research if necessary
- Find interesting, shocking, and compelling facts and statistics related to the current project
- Occasional other duties related to your internship

Graphic Design Internship
We are looking for an aspiring graphic designer looking for real world experience who already has some level of familiarity and skills with design. He or she will assist with the design and development of infographics for our clients. The content on the infographics will vary widely, depending on the type of client. Additionally, graphic design interns will be involved with elements of the graphical representation of our clients’ websites and social profiles.
Requirements:
- Total of 240 hours – averages to 20 hours per week
- Must have your own laptop to use in the office with graphic design software
- If the internship is fulfilling college credit, you must comply with all school requirements
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Good reputation online
- No posting of content on personal social media profiles that would conflict with professional image
- Basic skills and knowledge in graphic design
- Interest in graphic design and eager to gain real world experience
- Creative mind and eye for detail
*If you have any of the following skills, these will be considered bonuses
- Photography know-how
- Video editing know-how
- Familiarity with Adobe suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects
- Familiarity with typography
- Familiarity with vector images
Typical Daily Tasks:

- Working with Researchers to plan and produce infographics for clients
- Designing Facebook landing pages
- Designing graphics for Twitter and other social media profiles

Social Media Internship
The social media intern will learn valuable ways of using social media as a marketing tool. Responsibilities will include content creation, account management, and social analytics. The intern will work on current client strategies, as well as being a part of creating new ones. Through social media management applications, the intern will also learn to manage multiple accounts while maintaining each brands unique voice in each and every update.

- Total of 240 hours – averages to 20 hours per week
- Must have your own laptop to use in the office
- If the internship is fulfilling college credit, you must comply with all school requirements
- Competent writer
- Able to work well in a team environment

- Finding and creating content to push out via social media sites
- Constantly reviewing social sites for updates that require a response
- Thinking of new and creative ways to engage fans and followers
- Analyzing past updates to determine which has had the best response

Online Reputation Management Internship
The ORM Intern will learn about and assist with efforts to keep a clean reputation and image on the web for our clients. In most cases, these clients will already have an objective in mind involving putting bad buzz to rest or getting negative search engine results off the top of rankings. ORM Interns will be shown techniques of the trade to help present our clients in their most positive light. This will often involved working with our Search Engine Optimizers and Social Media Team to strategize for ways to enhance search results and address social media related concerns.

- Interest in ORM and enthusiastic about learning more
Typical Daily Tasks:
- Use of Basecamp and Google Documents to plan and organize tasks
- Monitoring results on search engines
- Setting up Google Alerts to notify you when new search results show up
- Using SEO tactics and working with the SEO team to outrank negative search results
- Creating positive content to help outrank negative search results
- Monitoring interactions on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+
- Responding appropriately to negative social media interactions
- Monitoring reviews on local search platforms and review sites, such as Google Places and Yelp
- Responding to reviews
- Occasional other duties related to your internship

SEO Internship
The SEO interns will learn valuable techniques and assist with researching competitors that have achieved high rankings on Google, determining quality keywords, and executing strategic practices to help enhance the search engine results for our company and clients. SEO interns also have the opportunity to gain experience with Local SEO procedures and techniques, which involves setting up and optimizing client pages on location based search engines, such as Google Places and Bing Local.

- Total of 240 hours – averages to 20 hours per week
- Must have your own laptop to use in the office
- If the internship is fulfilling college credit, you must comply with all school requirements to fulfill internship credit
- Competent writer
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Good reputation online
- No posting of content on personal social media profiles that would conflict with professional image
- Interest in SEO and enthusiastic about learning more
Typical Daily Tasks
- Use of Basecamp and Google Documents to plan and organize tasks
- Using keyword tools to determine popular search queries
- Creating XML sitemaps
- Investigating competitors on page 1 of search engines to find out what they are doing correctly, what we could be doing that we are not, and what level of competition they are to clients
- Registering clients to Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools, and using these to pinpoint and fix problems such as broken links
- Submitting clients’ websites to related web indexes
- Creating guest posts to submit to related blogs and achieve links to clients’ websites
- Determining what keywords are bringing traffic to websites
- Setting up and optimizing pages on local SEO platforms, such as Google Places, Bing Local, Foursquare, and Yelp
- Occasional other duties related to your internship
* You also may assist with other team members. Examples are working with Online Reputation Management to get good search engine results to outrank results that are harmful to clients’ images, and assisting with daily Social Media Strategy efforts such as interacting on social networks and creating blog posts

Content Developmenet Internship
Our content development intern will gain experience and assist with writing quality blog posts for our clients’ websites and as guest posts on other sites representing our clients. This will involve writing on a wide variety of topics, depending on the type of client. Blog posts will primarily be written through the WordPress platform and guest posts are submitted through MyBlogGuest. Content Development Interns may also assist with writing press releases and copy for advertisements.
Requirements:
- Total of 240 hours – averages to 20 hours per week
- Must have your own laptop to use in the office
- If the internship is fulfilling college credit, you must comply with all school requirements
- Competent writer
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Good reputation online
- No posting of content on personal social media profiles that would conflict with professional image
- Updated on current events
- Interest in content development and eager to learn more
- Occasional other duties related to your internship

- Use of WordPress, Myblogguest, Basecamp and Google Documents
- Creating interesting, original, and accurate blog content
- Guest posting with attention to anchor text and effective keywords
- Finding trustworthy sources for research purposes
- Stay updated on client development for timely blog updates
- Maintaining client’s social networks and overall positive online reputation
