In honor of the 40th anniversary of the War On Drugs, a term used by Nixon in 1971, NowSourcing was commissioned by The Foundation for Economic Education, Publisher of The Freeman to create an infographic and video infographic recognizing the cost of the matter. They recently began a new media campaign where both are featured on fee.tv, and the video is quickly becoming a hit on the nonprofit category of Youtube. The inforgraphic explores the disturbing truths behind the War On Drugs including the fact that in 2009 alone, the government spent over 2 billion dollars housing drug related prisoners. The controversial campaign, while not recognized by the Obama administration as “The War On Drugs”, has still made no significant alterations to the amount of money the United States spends on drug control and decriminalization.
